AMD announced today that its entire line of ATI FirePro workstation video cards have been certified by Autodesk for use with AutoCAD 2010 on Windows 7.

In addition, four of the FirePro accelerators—the FirePro V5700, the FirePro V7750, the FirePro V8700, and the FirePro V8750—have also been certified for use with the Autodesk Showcase 2010 virtualization software on Windows 7.

"We believe it's every professional's right to expect the applications they rely on to work straight out of the box," said Janet Matsuda, senior director, AMD Professional Graphics, in a statement. "For this reason, we've made a laser-focused effort to work with software vendors, such as Autodesk, to certify ATI FirePro graphics for leading applications to help ensure professionals get the reliability and stability they need to get the job done."

Features of the ATI FirePro line include scalable ultra parallel processing architecture with up to 800 unified shaders; high dynamic range (HDR) rendering with 8-bit, 10-bit, and 16-bit per RGB color component support; built-in support for DirectX 10.1, OpenGL 3.0, dual-link DVI and DisplayPort output; and compliance with PCI Express 2.0.
